**Physical impairments** include conditions affecting body systems such as: - Neurological, musculoskeletal, respiratory - Cardiovascular, reproductive, digestive - Skin, endocrine, immune - Sensory systems (vision, hearing)
**Mental impairments** include conditions affecting: - Cognition and learning - Mood and emotional regulation - Neurological function - Psychological wellbeing
An impairment becomes a disability under the ADA when it substantially limits a major life activity. The impairment itself is simply a fact about how your body or mind works.
